Train announced in mid-January that they would be embarking on a 2015 Summer Tour called Picasso at the Wheel. The name comes from the band’s latest album Bulletproof Picasso. Fans of the band know that they always try doing something new. From dance routines to costume changes, the band is always trying to change it up.
Pat Monahan, the frontman, has stated that they’re still ironing out all of the tour’s details. Simplicity is the aim for this tour, but it’s going to be nearly impossible with the likes of The Fray and Matt Nathanson taking stage as opening acts.
Train has stated that they will be incorporating both acts on stage to form a community.
The tour is scheduled to last only 2 months and will come to a close during a Music, Food and Wine festival tour in Washington.
Train has announced that there will be the Patcast Tailgate tent available for all attendees. The tent is open to all guests that arrive early to the venue and will have costume contests, classic rock music and more. Winners of the costume contest will have a chance to go on stage, and there’s a rumor that some fans will also be brought backstage.
Promoting Bulletproof Picasso, fans can expect a lot of the singles to make the set list cut, including Bulletproof Picasso and Cadillac, Cadillac.
The album reached #5 on the US Billboard 200 charts.
Fans will be excited to hear The Fray and Matt Nathanson warm up the stage before Train makes their appearance.
The Fray is known for using the piano on stage and released Helios, the band’s latest album, in 2014. The album is the band’s fourth and has two major hit singles: Love Don’t Die and Scars & Stories. The album peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on the US Top Rock Albums chart.
Matt Nathanson is a man on fire. Working hard throughout his 20+ year career, Matt is best known for Come On Get Higher. Matt’s latest album Last of the Great Pretenders was a major success, reaching #2 on the US Top Rock Charts. Mission Bells and Kinks Shirt are the two major singles off of the Last of the Great Pretenders album.
All of these great acts are set to hit the stage together this year. Fun, enthusiastic and one heck of a time is what fans can expect from all three acts.
