Kings of Leon: 2014 Mechanical Bull Tour
Kings of Leon are gearing up for their summer/fall tour with special guests Young the Giant and Kongos on their “Mechanical Bull Tour.” Aptly named after the band’s latest album release, Kings of Leon will play a string of amphitheater shows across the US. The band’s tour kicks off in July in St. Louis and will come to a close in early October in California.
The band’s latest tour follows the success of their sixth album, which topped the charts shortly after its release. The release “Mechanical Bull” trails the band’s self-imposed hiatus in 2012. While fans can expect Kings of Leon to put on a spectacular show, the band has cleaned up its act since their last tour. Fans can expect to hear their favorite old hits, like “Sex on Fire,” “Four Kicks” and “Molly’s Chamber,” as well as new ones, like “Temple” and “Supersoaker.”
Kings of Leon, comprised of four brothers, first achieved success in the UK with 9 top 40 singles. The band’s defining album “Only by the Night” saw the band’s greatest hits “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody.” The Nashville, Tennessee natives took a break in 2012 after releasing 5 albums and touring the world in just eight years.
Opening for Kings of Leon are Young the Giant and Kongos. Young the Giant, an indie rock band from California, is best known for their hits “My Body,” “Apartment,” and “Cough Syrup.” Kongos is a South African alternative rock band of four brothers. The band has produced the hits “I’m Only Joking” and “Come with Me Now.” To date, “Come with Me Now” has sold more than 70,000 copies.
Despite King of Leon’s hiatus, their latest album release has seen tremendous success. Fans can expect an unforgettable show with two fantastic opening acts that will rock the house.
