Darius Rucker announced his Southern Style tour and accompanying acts: Brett Eldredge, Brothers Osborne and A Thousand Horses. Set to begin on May 14th in New Jersey, the tour currently has only 30 stops scheduled. It’s expected that more stops will be added as the tour inches closer.
Rucker will be promoting his fourth album Southern Style, which is scheduled to be released on March 31, 2015. Currently, there has been only one single from the album released: Homegrown Honey. The single skyrocketed to the #13 spot on the Country Airplay charts.
Darius Rucker is a South Carolina native that got his big break with Hootie & the Blowfish. The artist has since made a huge name for himself since going solo in 2002. Rucker’s first solo album was in the R&B genre, but he quickly turned to country music where he has enjoyed greater success overall.
The set list has not been announced, but fans can expect a range of songs from his new album to be on the list. Homegrown Honey is sure to make the list, but older hits, such as Alright and History in the Making are expected to make the cut.
Three acts accompanying the star will take stage.
First up is Brett Eldredge. Brett his been wildly successful in his short career. His only studio album to date, Bring You Back, sold over 128,000 copies since its 2013 release. The artist has since gone platinum with the single Don’t Ya and Gold with Beat to the Music. Mean to Me is the only single he released in 2014, which has sold 257,000.
Brett was an opening act for Taylor Swift during her Red Tour.
Brothers Osborne is a duo best known for their Let’s Go There single. Rum was also released in 2014 and has sold 146,000 copies. The band is upbeat and has a lot of energy when they hit the stage.
A Thousand Horses hasn’t even released their first studio album yet, but the band is turning heads. Due on June 9th, the album Southernality will be the band’s first. The single Smoke is the band’s first and reached the Top 40 on the Country Airplay charts. The band has been called the best up-and-comers of 2014.
The Southern Style tour will be coming to a concert venue near you. Be on the lookout as more dates are added to the tour’s lineup in the coming weeks.
